Kilimanjaro Shira Route Tour

Itinerary – Shira Route

  • Duration: 7 Days
  • Trek Duration: 7 days

Trek overview:

  • Difficulty Level: high (due to shorter altitude acclimatisation times)
  • Chance of successful summit ascent: good (if you do not struggle with altitude)
  • Acclimatisation times: short
  • Number of fellow trekkers on route: few

Due to a starting altitude of 3,700m, this route is not recommended for inexperienced trekkers that have not trekked at such altitude before or those who require more time to acclimatise at high elevations. The Shira Route itself runs along the Lemosho Route but is distinguishes by starting at the Shira Gate which is located further up Mount Kilimanjaro, past the rainforest zone.

Known as the original Londrossi route, you will register with the Kilimanjaro National Park authorities at the Londrossi Gate before we bring you up to an elevation of 3,700m to start your trek.
